News Report – VANAMOHATSAV CEREMONY 2024-25

Kalpa School, on 19th July 2024

 

Vanamohatsav, or the “Festival of Trees,” is celebrated in India during the first week of July. Initiated in 1950, it aims to spread awareness about the importance of trees and encourage tree planting. During the festival, millions of saplings are planted across the country to promote ecological balance and a greener environment.

 

Vanamohatsav celebrations were held at Kalpa School, Banjara Hills on 19th July,2024. The celebrations began after the arrival of our esteemed Chief Guest Dr. Asha of the Indian Forest Service, Dean of Forest College and Research Institute, Hyderabad and the Director of Telangana State Forest Academy, and Chief Conservator of Forests.

 

The Vanamahotsav Programme commenced with a prayer sung by the melodious choir, acknowledging the beautiful bounties of nature bestowed upon mankind by the Almighty. The Director Mrs Kusum Gupta welcomed the Chief Guest formally with a welcome address. This was followed by speeches from the Head Boy Yohan Vinay and Head Girl Shriya Vora. They raised awareness among the students about the detrimental effects of deforestation and underscored the importance of trees.

 

The program was enlivened by the students’ vibrant performances. Through their dances, they highlighted the significance of forest conservation and tree planting.The entire school undertook a pledge with the Deputy Head Girl D.B.V Chinmayi and Deputy Head Boy Faisal Khan and swore to keep the environment clean, green and beautiful. They also pledged to restrain themselves from felling trees.

 

The Chief Guest Dr.Asha, then shared with us the importance of conservation of forests and the various steps implemented by the Indian Government to safeguard the wildlife for future generations. Her words left a lasting impact on the students and instilled in them a new fervor of determination to implement her advice.

 

At the end of the program The Chief Guest Dr.Asha, who was felicitated by the Director Mrs. Kusum Gupta, shared with us the importance of conservation of forests and the various steps implemented by the Indian Government to safeguard the wildlife for future generations. Her words left a lasting impact on the students and instilled in them a new fervor of determination to implement her advice.

 

The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks rendered by the Deputy Head Girl D.B.V Chinmayi. The ceremony motivated and encouraged the young crowd to plant trees.
