Independence Day 2024-25

News Report – INDEPENDENCE DAY 2024

Kalpa School, on 15th August 2024

The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and pride at Kalpa School, marking yet another memorable occasion in our school’s history. The spirit of freedom and patriotism was palpable as students, teachers, and staff came together to honor the nation’s legacy and reflect on the values that define our independence.

The ceremony started at 9:00 AM in the presence of all the students, faculty and staff. The program commenced with a heartfelt prayer, setting a reverent tone. This was followed by the proud March Past of the Head Boy and Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl, and the captains and vice-captains of the school’s four Houses. Their synchronized strides echoed through the grounds.

As the March Past concluded, all prefects converged in a solemn circle around the flag-mast. Our director Mrs Kusum Gupta unfurled the National Flag. The entire student body sang the National Anthem in perfect harmony. The moment sparked deep pride and patriotism as the tricolour waved, and ‘Jana-Gana-Mana’ echoed in joyful unity.

The Head Boy and Head Girl then took a solemn oath, speaking for the entire student body. They honoured the ultimate sacrifices of freedom’s martyrs, vowing to embrace the duties and responsibilities that come with the privileges of liberty.

This was followed by a series of performances and activities that highlighted our rich cultural heritage and the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters. The event featured several musical performances, capped off by a dance drama called ‘Be Indian. Buy Indian,’ performed by high school students. It powerfully underscored the importance of supporting local businesses and home grown products.

The 2-hour program concluded with a brief yet impactful speech by our Director, Mrs. Kusum Gupta. She thanked everyone for the seamless execution of the event and emphasized three key values: Freedom of mind, Faith in words, and Pride in soul—essential for ensuring a bright and progressive future for our nation.

As we celebrated this significant day, we were reminded of the importance of working towards a brighter, more inclusive future of our country. We are proud of the creativity, dedication, and passion shown by our students in making this event a grand success.
