Kalpa School, 9th January 2025 2024
Kalpa School celebrated its Annual Day with great pomp and enthusiasm on the 9th of January,2025 at Shilpakala Vedika. The event showcased the exceptional talent, hard work, and spirit of the students and staff. The theme for this year, Kalpa’s Got Talent, resonated throughout the program, captivating the audience with an array of message oriented dances and skits that spoke volumes about pressing environmental and social issues.
The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest, Mrs. Sandhya Raju, famous Kuchipudi dancer, actress and national award winner for best choreography for the film Natyam, accompanied by the Director, Mrs. Kusum Gupta, President, Mr. Shyam Gupta, Mr. Atin Gupta, member of Sri Ram Educational Society Principal, Mrs. Ayesha Jelani and Vice-Principal, Mrs. Kusuma Prasad. The Director, Mrs. Kusum Gupta rendered the welcome address and extolled the performance of the students at the ICSE board exam where in a student topped the school with 99.2% and said she expected the same from the present batch. She also spoke about how the school provided a platform to the students to showcase their talent. This was followed by mind-blowing performances by the students.
The Chief Guest in her address applauded the school for its achievements and encouraged the students to strive for excellence.
One of the highlights of the evening was the impeccable compering by the students and the stunning costumes, which earned special appreciation from the Chief Guest where she commented that the anchoring was on par with international standards and the costumes were beautiful. The performances reflected the creativity and teamwork of the students and staff and left the audience spellbound.
The skits, in particular, received widespread applause for addressing important social issues. The first skit, a powerful performance on the theme of girls joining the military, was especially inspiring and struck a chord with the audience. The second skit emphasized the importance of reducing the use of gadgets and promoting meaningful connections, while the third highlighted the need to minimize waste and adopt sustainable practices.
Another captivating performance was the “Triangle Dance,” a contemporary piece that stood out for its creativity and coordination. Students performed intricate geometric formations resembling triangles, symbolizing unity and balance. The use of precision in movements. and rhythmic transitions made it a standout act of the evening, earning resounding applause from the audience. The other dance was the beautiful depiction of lord Krishna and his gopikas. The mischievous antics of the beloved lord was brilliantly enacted by the students.
The event concluded with a soulful ode to their mother land followed by the vote of thanks and the National Anthem, marking the end of a memorable evening. The Annual Day was a celebration of hard work, talent, and the vibrant spirit of Kalpa School.
